Ok, this will hopefully be my last post for a while........because I'm hopeful that the boys will be happy together from now on (although I know there will be a few hairy moments still to come, as they mature). Fingers crossed! Anyway, thanks for your patience and your advice earlier on today.

So, I followed the 'introducing new boars' advice.....scrubbed the cage and bars, then put in freshly washed bedding and snuggles, etc, washed the food bowls and the water bottle, and chucked out any old cardboard boxes that had already been in the cage.

As far as I could possibly be sure, there would be very little (if any) smell of either piggie in the cage.

Then, with food, hay, veggies and 'furniture' already in the cage, we put them both back in together....and held our breath and waited.......and watched.....nothing.....absolutely nothing....they just sat side by side munching on watercress :)) They did have a few minutes of very mild dominance behaviour after they'd been in together for about 30mins, but barely anything and it was over as soon as it started.

If they continue to be happy and calm together, I'll leave them in together overnight - they were both so miserable when they were separated! :( We still have the emergency accommodation set up in case of a fight, but fingers crossed, all seems very quiet and harmonious at the moment!
