A friend of mine wants to give her 2 little piggys away to a good home as her daughter has 'lost interest'....

Bondind wise.....iwould this be a possibility for Alan?

I know one younger boar is OK but what about 2? They are only about 5months old...

I wouldn't even entertain the thought she you guys tell me its not a good ldea!

Thanks! :)

i think it would be up to the personalities of the pigs including alan at 5 months old they are into hormone territory would taking alan to meet them be an option?

It's a tricky one - they are just about to hit the strongest hormonal months (6-10 months) and as you have probably seen on the forum getting a trio of boys, especially hormonal ones, is very difficult.

Do you know if they have been vet checked recently, mite treatments given, are they bickering between themselves, have the family got rabbits too (concern over carrying pasturella/bordatella), have you facilty to quarantine them for a minimum of two weeks in an area completely separate to your piggy?

There's a lot to think of even before you go down the route of introducing them so don't rush into it as I would hate for you to regret it later.

I agree with Suzy - those boys are at the most difficult age for bonding, so things can easily go wrong. There is also a good chance that they may fall out themselves at one point.

That said, boars at that age struggle to find a home - rescues are all too often full of them. Perhaps Alan would like to live next to them?

Hey guys!

Yes I could keep them completely separate and then perhaps after that initial 2weeks have them living side by side for a while.

I feel in such a difficult position I'm definitely not rushing into anything. I also wonder if it's too soon for him to be introduced so soon after Barry (It's only been a week!). I just want to make sure I make the right decision!
