This is probably a stupid question but I’m wracking myself with worry.
BB is currently pretty ill at the moment and is on lots of meds. I accidentally gave him a syringe which I thought had medicine in but was actually just air, as in it was pulled like it had meds in but wasn’t. He’s on emeprid and cisapride in general, but I’m worried he’s had about 0.5 of air syringed into him :/ Do I need to be extremely worried? I’m running on very little sleep due to getting up and syringe feeding him through the night etc so was just a complete mistake made by tiredness and now I’m getting myself in a state worried that I will have given him bloat in his stomach and/or intestines whilst trying to help him. Thanks in advance

Try not to worry, hard I know. I did the same myself last week it's very easy to do. Nugget was fine. It's very little air. If you draw up 5mls of water in a syringe and squirt it into your palm, you'll see it's very little.

I’m so mad at myself, I’m looking after him pretty much round the clock and then I go and make such a stupid mistake. Hopefully all will be okay, its just given me something else to worry about on top of his existing illness. Thank you for your reassurance, I really do appreciate it

Hi

Please take a deep breath. It happens to everybody sryinge feeding and medicating sooner or later and it doesn't do any harm. Half a ml is a volume that a piggy can comfortably hold in their mouth, it's not even a full mouthful of air! ;)

Thank you for your response, it’s happened to me before with the odd 0.1ml but it being 0.5ml had me pretty freaked out. I can’t believe I didn’t notice! You have reassured me so much, so thank you!
