Hi guys, so I have a 2 year old female guinea pig who used to be really loving towards me and my partner, but we introduced her to 2 baby Guinea pigs and now whenever we go near her or the babies she chatters her teeth at us and a few minutes ago I put my hand in to move something by one of the babies and she went to bite me, is this normal?

She was never aggressive before hand, if you went to stroke her she would give you and lock and be really loving towards you but now she's changed she's the exact opposite, she hasn't hurt the babies at all she's been really good with them but not with us

I have a quick question - Are they her babies? :)
I'm sorry, I couldn't quite tell.

I have a feeling it may be some major motherly instinct because for the whole night she has been checking on them both, cleaning them and snuggling up next to them at different points, but I don't understand how she went from trusting us and being so loving to being aggressive towards us

Hi

She is obviously feeling very protective of the babies. Please respect that and use piggy whispering tricks to sort out the hierarchy between her and yourself.
You have to accept that the primary focus will be her piggy company (as should be) and take pride and joy to see just how important and vital a gift to her cavy happiness you have made her. Things will settle down again once she is getting used to the situation and the babies are growing up.
