OK I have to male guinea pigs (Milo and Geo) they are almost a year old. They have been showing some signs of dominece and submissive. I'm not sure which because both of them are doing both. They are both rumbling, hip swaying, and nose offs. They have tried to mount, but I won't let them. They seem to be getting more aggressive. Today they started lunging at eachother. They were not landing on eachother but very close. It seems agressive. So am I supposed to let them mount eachother? Will that make them stop? How long will they do this? They started the lunging today. And they got more agressive. They started rubling , kicking, hip swaying and butt dragging more today. But at the moment they seem fine. They are sleeping right next to eachother like it never happened.

Are they new or have you had them for a while? Boars go through a hormonal stage between 4-14 months old. Occasionally the rough bit hits only at the end of this phase. Sometimes, an overnight separation can help to cool down the boys, but it has to be followed by a buddy bath and a supervised introduction on neutral ground, as well as a cage clean upon re-introduction. You can't do this too often or you will additionally disrupt the bond. Please separate only if the signs are clearly from the highly aggressive end or if the mounting prevents the other piggy from eating, drinking and sleeping.

In your case, I would not worry as they are still getting on well and are only showing typical boar behaviour.
