I am on the verge of moving all my guinea pigs into the new free range shed and run and i have a bit of a query.

I have the existing herd of 8 girls and 1 neutered boar and i also have 3 seperate young females that are waiting to join the herd in the shed.

Obviously the shed will be a new place to all of them, but how do i go about introducing the young trio? do i move them into the shed first a few days before the herd or should i move all of them in at the same time.

Any advice would be much appreciated xx

Hi there,

Well I am no experts and certainly I have not had experience with this many pigs but I would probably say to introduce the 3 separate ones 1 by 1 to the herd and on neutral ground.

That way when you move them into the new shed they will have already been introduced.

One of the members with more experience on this topic will be on to advice very soon I am sure but that's how I would probably approach it.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I would introduce them at the same time as you are moving everypig to the shed, so it is truly neutral territory. However, I would introduce them on open neutral ground first, though, and make sure that the single girls are OK with your group before you move them into the shed.
