Hi all!

I keep my guinea pigs outdoors and I'm slowly starting to think about the changing weather :)
I use a plastic cover when it starts raining but it isn't 100% waterproof so they do have wet spots in their run.
Is this a problem? 'Cause I know they're quite sensitive so I don't want to take any risks.
I have thought about putting these wooden tiles in their run (so they don't have to be on the cold floor when the temperature drops) but I'm scared that their feet might get stuck in it.

So does anyone have any tips/ideas? Is there anything I can do to improve their living space or is it OK as it is?
Their sleeping area is completely dry, the floor is covered with fleece and they also have a fleece cuddle sack and a wooden house.

Thanks in advance! :)

could you use a thicker water proof tarp ? or an old carpet ?

Well It's not really the thickness that's the problem... It's the wind :)
I cover the bottom of the tarp with rocks but when the wind is really strong it just partially gets blown off...

hmmm.... other than a proper line of bricks i wouldn't know what else to suggest, sorry x

No problem, thanks for taking the time to reply! :)
It's just so difficult right now because I can't cover it permanently... One day it's like super hot and then the next day it's only rain & wind. Damn weather! :)

I have outdoor runs for mine and half cover the run with triple plastic like folk use for conservatory roofs. this is shade in summer and cover from wet and other bad weather. Its attached with cable ties so is secure. I also used to use carpet on the floor when they lived in the garage during winter months - I sourced it from carpet shops so I could chuck it away weekly as it does get rather smelly easily as piggies are dirty creatures. Again I used cable ties to attach it to the edges of the run so it didn't move.
