advice re baby pig and dad

I currently have 2 baby pigs housed with their Mam and dad is in a seperate cage. As the babies were 3 weeks old yesterday I tried tonight to seperate the boy baby and put him with dad. I thought this would be good as dad has been quite miserable alone. Anyway, dad as soon as I put baby in with him proceeded to constantly circle him and try to mount him. Baby was distressed at this so ive took him back out, what should I do? In the next week or so baby boy is going to a new home and I'm getting dad neutered so he can live with the girls, should i just cage baby boy seperate for now?
 
This is normal boar behaviour, i know it looks a little rough but let them be and Dad should calm down after he realises that baby is no threat to him. Please also be aware its better to rehome at 6 weeks of age, no younger really.

Please make sure that your baby boy is 400g/6 weeks old before you rehome to make sure that he is going to thrive and do well in his new home.

I completely agree re. dad - it is normal dominance behaviour, and not agressive at that. Just let them sort it out! Ideally, they will end up snuggled together.
 
Oh thank you so much, and apologies for confusion I meant dad will be neutered in next week or so, baby will def stay till 6 weeks, didn't realise about the weight tho i will be sure to check before he goes.
 
Instead of neutering the dad is is not possible for him and the baby boy to stay as a pair?
 
I've promised my baby boy to a good friend who recently lost a male piggy and her kids are really excited to get baby, I know he will be very well looked after so I dont want to let them down. If for any reason she cancels this arrangement I will do that tho.
 
Is the baby going as a partner to another piggy? :)

Yes he is and i think dad is missing mam, they were so well bonded I cant wait to get them back together.
I put baby back with dad they seem to have settled down nicely, thanks for the help x
 
Aww. Well, It will hopefully be happy ending all round! :) Might want to print off the dominance thread so your friend can check out how to introduce them for best results, if they havnt introduced piggies before. :)
