I'm thinking of moving my piggies into C & C housing but am wondering what would be best to cover the correx with. Some use fleece, newspaper, woodshavings. I currently alternate vetbed and puppypads with fleece, but as the C&C would be larger I will have to start again if I can afford it. Can any C&C users give me experienced advice please?

I’ve used wood shavings, aubiose and biocatelet. I’m now using fleece. It depends on you and what works for you. Vetbed and fleece with puppy pads would still work. You could get a piece of fleece and just tuck it in or something. Or clip it to the grids so the piggies can’t burrow.

Thanks Siikibam, yes I do have a constant burrower and all 4 piggies think it fun to tear up the puppypads! If I just have normal fleece won't their wee leak through onto the floor? My burrowing piggy drinks for England!

You have to have something absorbent underneath. So either puppy pads, towels or even a waterproof mattress protector. I use the latter for my piggies. There are also reusable puppy pads.

I use fleece cage liners which have an absorbent core. I also use pee pads, like a mini cage liner that fits under a hidey that can be changed more often. You can have fleece in one half and puppy pads in another.

To everyone who replied to my question I just want to say thanks and its helped me with my dilema

I go over the top 🙈 my c & c - lined with a water proof table cloth, puppy pads, fleece cage liners and then bath mats on top.. works for me!
