Advice Please! wish I was a psycologist

Over the last four / five days my boys have been taking it in turns to live in the playpen (partly because I'm too lazy to put it away (i do clean it out though) and partly because I know how much fun they have in it). I have been leaving one in the pen from when I get home from work to same time following day (it is a meter high so no chance of escape) and then swapping them over. This means they have not been living together in the divided cage as only oneof them has been in the cage at a time.I have left the divider in place so both of them when in cage are on their own sides.

I have been having problems for quite a while now with tiger being very upset with me holding him or coming near him (he used to be fine until the fight with george). When I get him out he shouts and complains until i put him back in (he does that noise he used to do when george was rumbling at him like high pitched frightened one).

Anyway yesterday and today tiger seemed like his old self he has been laying down out in the open in his cage looking really comfy. I got him out today with no running away and he sat there for 10mins on my knee without complaining once or figiting and even did a very very quiet happy noise (i had to really listen to hear it and mute the TV). He did a bit of a teeth chatter after 10mins so put him back in cage and he did a wee so even that was just telling me what he needed a wee!

I was wondering if maybe this means that george has been upsetting him and that I should have them in completely different cages? If I did this I would have to find the room somehow and then look into getting new friends for each of them.

Do I leave them a few more days and monitor behavour then put them both back into divided cage to see if his progress detoriates or is this being cruel? Should I just keep then apart like they are until I find a way to move my furniture around?

Sorry it is so long but wanted to give all the info

oh well I have bitten the bullet and they are reunited in their divided cage. Tiger was squeeling and rumbling at me again tonight when I got him out but now he is flaked out on the floor half hanging out of his house so it can't be all bad. I will certainly have to look into making room for a new cage or altering the exisiting one somehow to make another level!
