I've just extended my C&C cage and have fleece liners but sadly they are quite large and my washing machine will not take the weight of even 1 liner when being rinsed, so it refuses and can't even get to the spin stage. What would be the best alternatives? It's a shame as they are very pretty and I had them specially made :( I have bought washable puppy pads and these are ok but get smelly after 2 days.
Also, now their home is larger they can have more toys to keep them occupied, Any suggestions welcome!

Cardboard boxes and paper bags filled with hay and forage/veg always go down well. The cardboard boxes can be used as hides and they can redecorate by chewing on them. Toilet paper or kitchen paper rolls stuffed with hay are another good one. And there’s the carrot cottage. Piggies don’t really play with ‘toys’.

As for the fleece, could you cut it in half and sew the open ends? Then you can wash separately. Otherwise not sure what else you can do. Another later native is bath mats on top of the puppy pads.

We bought a lovely and expensive thick 5x2 cage liner that unfortunately my washing machine doesnt like, so we now use cheaper thinner 3x2 liners overlapped in the big area with washable puppy pads underneath in the high traffic areas, with little fleecy pee pads under the hidey houses that I change every couple of days- much easier on the washing machine! Carrot cottages, hay cubes and cardboard boxes are good edible furniture, and cheap brown paper bags stuffed with hay and a few bits of veg and a sprinkling of porridge oats go down a treat- I have yet to meet a piggy who wasn't completely enchanted for an hour by a 10 inch square old fashioned brown paper bag like you can buy off eBay 100 for under £5 filled with food :)

Like what @Siikibam said, if you can cut the fleece in half and sew it, that's a good option. This is the reason why I buy fleece liner in half sizes (I have 3x2 and 2x2) coz the washing machine can't handle it, especially if the liners are thick. Although so far, I can wash both fleece liners at the same time. Oh and buy some horse wash bags to put your fleece in when washing. This is so all the piggies hair won't clogged up your washing machine. I have 4 big horse wash bags for all the fleece items my piggies have!

Thanks to everyone that replied its gratefully received. By 'toys' I meant entertainment. I will try cutting the liners in half (never thought of that, doh :( ) My washing machine will thank me. I am sure I have a cardboard box somewhere so will hunt for it today.
