i have just finished making fleece cage liners for my outside hutch.. Two layers of fleece, washable incontinenace pad then another layer of fleece of cotton underneath, all sewn together. Would I need anything else underneath this ? Going to use just in the bottom of the hutch so they can have hay house upstairs still, and this has a rubber type coated mat fixed to it.. Thanks...

No that will be fine as it is! If you find the bottom gets a little wet then you could always add a layer of towel underneath it all.

The layers that you have seem ample for soaking up everything. As long as the wood is protected from the moisture (as you say with a rubber mat) then it should be fine.

Thank you.. Photos here of what it looks like, they seem to like it so far ! They did a good sniff around it all ! IMG_1290.webpIMG_1293.webpIMG_1294.webp
