I have just received a supply of vet beds. I put this in one of my piggies cages and when i checked an hour later the urine was just sitting on the fleece is small droplets. This may sound silly but is it the fleecy side that goes on top? I could smell the urine straight away. Any advice gratefully received..

it needs to be washed at least 2/3 times before use to get rid of all the coating etc.. then it should soak up much better! Yes fleece side up is the way to do it and also put some paper underneath that can be changed daily to reduce smell between washings!

Thanks for this tip, I'm waiting for some I've ordered to arrive and reckon I'd have had this same problem without reading this!:)

Thanks Briony. As I have never used vet bed before I thought * just put it straight on. I had actually never heard of vet bed until i joined the forum. Will get it in the wash tomorrow.

That wots so brilliant about the forum. All us piggy lovers sharing valuable tips with each other. I will keep Mimsi on the bedding overnight as he has has some blood in his urine from a cut and it will be easier to see on the white bedding.[8)
