We've just bought a rabbit 150 (formerly the trixie) for our two new (very nervous) girls. We're new to piggies and trying to get it right - thanks for all the advice we've got from the site! Unfortunately I can't seem to get the cage to sit properly on the stand bought with it...am i being stupid? If you have this cage and stand could you tell me, does it sit firmly in the frame and did you manage to get the white clips to fit on the side? Or does it sit uneven with one long side higher up than the other (as mine does at the moment)? Any help gratefully received!

Solved, mostly

Sorry, after a break...it's a big cage to put together on your own! I've tried again and this time it sits square with clips. It's just the wire top that doesn't fit perfectly into all the clip points and maybe that's just production error. i'm not going to use the top wire bit for now as there's loads of space and it will need modifying anyway. Off to re-read the settling in new piggies posts again for reassurance...

I'm sure it'll be fine...

Just give your girls plenty of time and love while they settle. They'll come round to a new cage and new people in their own time. Even just chatting at the helps.

It would be great to see some photos when they've settled down a bit!

Trixie 150 cage

Hello Sharmck - hope you're getting on ok with the new cage/stand and your lovely new girls! We have the Trixie 150 cage (but without the stand - it stands on 3 crates as the stand would have made it too high for where it was situated) - just wanted to let you know that if you are planning on using the wire grilled ledge that comes with the cage then you will **** need to adapt it - we've adapted ours so that a new plastic shelf sits on top of the old ledge and we don't use the existing ramp at all (just snipped it off) - we've added a length of square guttering with a bit of carpet stuck on as the ramp and used plastic cable ties to secure guttering to the ledge. Our piggies were up it within about 5 mins of being in their new cage and because it has smooth sides I think it's safer for them.

The Trixie 150 is a great cage I think and so easy to keep clean (I am a fleece-convert and don't use woodshavings anymore but newspaper, old towel then a double layer of fleece blanket - apart from picking up poos every day it can last 5-7 days and is easy to wash/dry - very pleased I took the advice of lots of people on here cos I was spending a fortune covering such a big cage with woodshavings etc!).

Good luck with yours - we got our 2 boys (Nibble and Tom ) on Christmas Eve and they have settled in really well now. xx There are some great pictures on here somewhere of someone else who has converted their Trixie 150 cage. Or I can try and post some pics of what we've done with our cage if you need me too xx
