Adult Guinea Pig
Hi! I hope I'm not repeating another post, I've had a looksi but couldn't see find much. Sorry if I have! This is my first post, but I have been reading many others, it certainly is lovely to find such a warm and welcoming forum
. I have posted on others before and have had less than pleasant experiences!
Here goes...
My friend has recently lost her job and as a result has to move out of her rented flat and back in with her parents. Bit of a mess, really. Part of the problem is she has two guineas that she can't take back with her, at least not for the moment, and has asked if I would mind looking after them for her. So of course I said yes! They are lovely boys, really friendly and love a good scratch :<>.
My concern is that I have three little divas of my own, I lost my boys before I went to uni
, and having had a little guinea shaped hole in my life I adopted my current three
. However I've never had boars and sows at the same time, so I wondered if I could get some advice on housing etc?
One of her boys has had his 'pockets picked' the other hasn't. They are approximately two years of age, she isn't 100% as she adopted them when they were wee. The girl's hutch is kept in the utility room (where they sleep at night as we have a dog too), they also have an indoor run constructed out of Cubes/Mesh/C&C (whatever you prefer to call it!), and an outdoor run for when we have nice weather. We still have plenty of room for all the boys things (runs and hutch etc) but I'd like some advice on proximity and such! Whether they need to be kept at a fair distance whilst they are out during the day and whether the same applies for when they are in their hutch at night. I have read that being too close to females can cause the boys to fight, so any advice/experiences from others would be great!![laugh :)) :))](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f923.png)
Thankyou x
