i have moved 6 of my piggies into an 8x6 shed insulated with bubble wrap stuff and boarded over then on the floor they have underlay, carpet and then lino.

they also have an air con unit and an oil filled radiator. as well as a hutch with fleece bedding in with the doors open its only about an inch off the floor (they prefer to jump in and out without using the ramp) malletheadmallethead

my questions are:
1) what temp should the inside of the shed be? i dont want them too hot or to cold. I'm thinking between 18-22c
2) as they are in a nice warm shed (was warmer than the house the other morning!) is it possible in the not so nice weather to bring them indoors to run around as obviously they cant go in runs.

thanks :)

My garden is secure so I've put a catflap in my shed. When the weather is dry, I just leave their hutch open, they come through the flap, munch on the lawn and run back in the shed if they feel threatened. ;) As long as it's not too hot they are happy. I tend to have my radiator on half and that keeps the shed warm enough.

When my piggies were back home with me at my parents they lived in a heated shed during the winter months. I put my radiator on a thermostat so I could keep it at an even temperature and prevent the bills from sky rocketing! I'd set it to around 15 degrees and the thermostat would click it off once the shed was up to temp and would kick in again once it fell below 15. :)
