Just checking if this sounds okay as an order I am starting soon is a kennel for two sets of Guinea Pigs.

One set will live on the floor and another set will live on a level about 2ft above the floor. The size is 4x4x4/5ft and will have 4 doors, two at front and 2 at the back.

It’s also going to be ply lined and insulated (doors and roof included) with many vents to stop it going mouldy and rotting with two windows, one each floor.

When building this is there anything I need to be aware of?

This is what the customer wanted.

How large are the windows? Whilst guinea pigs do like to hide I'm wondering if it'll be a bit dark towards the back with only one window on each floor.

Making sure there's adequate ventilation is important but it doesn't want to be draughty, positioning the vents higher up on each level is probably best.

If the windows are perspex it might be an idea to consider if there's a way to have mesh with the option of a perspex cover, that way there can be plenty of ventilation in hot weather. Also wondering where they're going to put the water bottles if they have no mesh!

The other thing to suggest would be lining the floor with lino or similar to make cleaning easier.

The size of the windows will most likely be around 600mm square which is just under 2ft. Yes the vents will be placed higher but yes your right and i did give the options of more windows but sadly the customer only wants the two to save costs. The widows are perspex and i was going to fit a vent along the top.

Not sure if the customer wanted mesh and a shutter.

The customer my very well use lino, my concern was bending inside to clean bottom floor but with doors on front and back that should help make it easier.
