I have already decided I will be switching from Megazorb to Fleece as I have noticed my Guinea Pigs have been sneezing and also I just like the idea of them walking on fleece as it would be more comfortable and also you only have to buy it once which is great.

But I would like some advice on the best way to line your cage. I know some people put towels underneath their fleece to absorb the urine but some people also use puppy pads. I don't really like the idea of puppy pads as you'd have to keep buying them when they run out, and towels sound good because all you have to do is machine wash them. Also how do you lay it out, how many layers of fleece do you use on top and do you use anything else under the fleece apart from towels?

Thanks,

I put down a layer of towels and one layer of fleece. I collect poops two or three times a day to keep the cage clean. I wash all the towels and fleece every three days.

I put a thick layer of newspaper at the bottom of my cage and then fleece and then towels and then fleece again. Fudge & Aero seem impressed and Aero started pop corning on the fleece!

Aww they really do love fleece. It is so nice to see them happy.

Have you thought about cage liners with a waterproof layer inside? You can make them yourself if you google it or places online (such as Cosy Cavies) will do them too :)

Yeah I was looking online at them and they seem really good but quite expensive for me. I would make them myself but it would probably be terrible as I'm a 14 year old boy who's not blessed with sewing skills unfortunately ! :)
