ive decided that if I'm going to get more piggies then i want to get a new cage.but I'm not sure what cage.they will be indoor pigs but i would like maybe a 2 tier indoor cage for them or a high enough cage where i could add a level for them. i was also maybe considering making a c&c cage just not sure if theyre that easy to make for a un diy type person as myself, whether they are the best or not? what cages do you have where did you get them from etc?any recommendation? any suggestions are much appreciatedrolleyes

If you want to go for a two-tier affair, C&C would be by far the easiest and cheapest; it'll also give you the most freedom to arrange things to your liking.

I use straight forward cages, but my husband has built some wooden platforms and ramps, so my guinea pigs can get in and out (for roaming the living room while I'm around) and from one cage to the other (by folding up the sides).
That way, we can provide enough space when they are piggysat at home, but also take them in their own cages to the "piggy hotel", if we're away for longer periods. (A 2x4 cage just about fits in our estate, if we fold up the top).

That's my set-up: (I am in the process to switching over to fleece now)

I like your set up Wiebke & that is a good idea about being able to take them anywhere in their own cages.

I have C&C cages, which for me do seem to be the best option. You can build them however you want & it is quite easy once you get the hang of it.
Here's an older pic of my set up - the grids are from b&q and the correx is from a local sign makers shop.

pompypigs that looks great.was it easy to make?have you got the same grids on the bottom?the fleece looks great but is it hygenic,by that i mean dont the pigs wee all over it and make it smell?its just ive only ever used newspaper and sawdust/straw for the floors.
dont the pigs try and escape with their being no lid to their cage?

thanks sophie, they do look great I'm just worried il mess it up and my poor pigs would have to live in a broken house or just escape. ive been looking at cages and cant find something i like and i am quite tepted to make a c&c cage

Thanks Sarah :)
It is easy once you get the hang of folding/cutting the correx. The first ever one I made took ages but 5 cages later I can do it in no time :))
I don't put the grids underneath - only in areas where I need to put a divide in (like at the back in the pic).
I do actually prefer fleece, I change the fleece every 3 days - any longer and it can start to be a bit smelly. They tend to wee in certain areas more than others so I put old towels under those parts. When washing it, I brush off as much hair/hay as I can then put it in a washbag (you can use a pillow/duvet case if you don't have one).
As for trying to escape - touch wood - they've never attempted it xx

the rabbit 150 cage is great. has a small top level also.
