Iv had them about 6 months at least and I can hand feed them I can pick them up without them running, I hold them and feed them, and groom them, but they are temperamental one day there great, happy to see me wants me to love on them but then sometimes later the same day the femail will bite me and hard, draws blood and I have literally done nothing wrong to deserve her to bite me. And I'll pet them and when I go over there heads sometimes they will toss there head backs real hard. From what I've read That's them showing dominance or telling me they don't want to be petted. But how do I know which. And they are mean to each other they fight I can hear them standing off at all hours of the night is that normal between opposite sexs, should they fight the way they do that maybe they don't like each other need to be separated but then I worry if I separate them and get another guinea pig and get rid of it and get another one but what if I'm wrong and they absolutely love each other and the other one grieves itself to death because I got rid of its other partner? I have so many questions and no one really to help me answer them can anyone give me some advice on any of these topics I attached a pic the white is the female the brown is the mail, if anyone could tell me what kind they are and a way that I can get a close guess to how old they are? And I think they are tired of the food I get them but I get all I can I only have one place to get there produce in 40 miles what are some favorite foods, what to get what not to get? I half got to get them a bigger cage what website to order those cages for pigs

Wiebke has Seen your other picture clearly enough to confirm they are both boys (I couldn’t see one of the pics clearly enough).

If two piggies are actually having physical fights and injuring each other then they can never live in the same cage again. It happens because a bond isn’t functioning.
As you have two boys, if their cage isn’t big enough then that will also be another reason for fall outs and tension. Two boars need a huge space - a cage is 180x60cm is recommended.
They need two of everything in the cage and hides which have two doors (no single exit hides).

However it is important you do not confuse normal dominance with fighting. Even in a big enough cage you will see dominance behaviours but that is not fighting and you don’t need to separate for normal dominance.

If two piggies do actually fight and their bond breaks, they need to live in separate but side by side cages.

Throwing their head back is a sign they don’t want to be touched.

As for their food, the only food they need constantly is hay. They can have one cup of veg each per day. Safe daily veggies are lettuce, cilantro, pepper and cucumber. Things like carrot should only be given in very tiny amounts (one thin circle of it) and no more than once a week as a very occasional al treat.
They can have one tablespoon of a plain guinea pig pellet per pig per day.

Welcome to the forum, please have a read through these amazing guides they are really helpful and will put your mind at rest on a lot of your issues

Have a look around on the internet for c&c options. I personally use songmics grids from Amazon and correx bases from kavee. I won't get the grids from kavee as I find them far too expensive. You piggies are gorgeous.
