Hello!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RABBIT-GU...pplies_Small_Animals&var=&hash=item417057e829

I have this cage 120cm, And I am hoping to get a new addition very soon! (Yayyyyyyy!) I would like to add like some sort of level so I can keep the hay and water separate, but I'm not sure how to go about this? I've seen other people do this, I was thinking maybe some coroplast? With a fence around it to stop them from jumping. And of course a ramp. Any other way I could do this?

I'll be a lot happier knowing there isn't hay everywhere, as half of the cage is fleece the other half newspaper but if I can do this then I can just have a nice layer of fleece on the bottom :)

Is there anyone that could make a table that would fit in the cage with a ledge to stop them jumping over .You could use c&c grids to make an extra level and put correx on top. Some people use cat scratch posts as Ramps as this gives them good grip or you could bend grids so you have a ramp with sides .could line ramp with fleece so comfy for their feet, just clip it on the sides with bulldog clips.Good luck. There is a thread for c&c and commercial cages in the forum that might give you some ideas.Good luck

Hay everywhere is not a bad thing. It means they have more opportunities to graze. Piggies cages are not meant to be tidy. With another level it does not mean the cage is big enough for another piggy as only the floor space counts. A c and c cage is the ideal way to increase the living space.

I like the thought of a table kinda thing :) I like wooden accessories in his cage so just have to find someone. Anyone know where I could get the c&c grids and coroplast though? I might put up a wanted post in the for sale section if I have trouble locating a wooden level. Thanks for the advice :)

I know hay everywhere is not a bad thing, but when it comes to GiGi he is quite messy so I'd be afraid he'd be eating soiled hay which might make him ill. The level isn't for space though, the actual length of the cage is 120cm and he is a loan boar so it is enough space overall even when I get a new piggy hopefully :)

Hi there
I use old seed trays, cat litter trays from the pound shop/Wilkinsons and the bottoms of old hamster cages in my two cages.

How exciting that Gigi will have a friend!

The other thing I do to contain the hay is that my newly acquired teddy girls still have their carrier in their cage as a hidey place (one is still very shy) and I absolutely stuff that with hay :) I put the cat carrier they were transported in straight in the cage so I didnt have to drag them out when they arrived and I never meant for it to stay there but they really seem to like it, so it might become a permanent cage fixture and it does contain their hay very effectively!

You could also stuff boxes with hay for them to climb in - I find that works well when I'm using fleece x

Hello and well trays and litter trays seem to be used quite a lot :o Will pop out soon and go hunting for them xD And it is exciting hopefully he will like the lil guy can't wait to go see him that is if the home visit passes been getting stuff ready and tidying up a bit :)

And if I can get this second level thing in there it will make a nice big hidey like that. I've seen people make those c&c bunk beds which looked interesting so I might make something like that if all else fails and get some c&c grids :) Thanks for the advice!

I have a cage similar to this. I have used a cat litter tray in the past as well as the addition these type of cages come with ( the plastic house with space on top ) both of these work to keep food separate. Another idea is something like an ikea a bed. I've seen these used by pig people a lot. It's a wooden dolls bed from ikea that pigs can go under and ontop. you could use something like that?

I can't seem to find those beds at ikea :( I've looked but nothing, might have been looking in the wrong place xD And that sounds good I will keep that in mind thank you! At the mo I have been given a link to a ebayer who sells the grids on their own, then planning a trip to b&q to see what I can find for ramps and such, guttering seems to be used a lot. Can't wait to get it built! :D
