Hello All,

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas in these hard times!
So about a week ago I adopted two 6 month old sows who where no longer wanted as the daughter lost interest. I was told they where well bonded and would squeal for each other if one was picked up out the cage and the other wasn't.

when I first got them home I had a temporary cage until my C cage came, there was two of everything I understand where it was new to them some sort of dominance would happen and they would not go near each other and if they came too close they would chatter their teeth.
since I have moved them to the C cage much bigger they are both still teeth chattering when one goes near each other, I have a camera installed as I was so worried a fight would break out and one would get hurt. They will eat fine next to each other and don’t steal food from each other but if one goes near to the other randomly they will raise their bum, chatter and one will end up backing down. They where also bought together so have been with each other for the full period of 6 months. If one can not see the other if I have taken one out of the cage they will squeal

is something going wrong, will they ever get along?

That does sound a little tense but if one is backing down then hopefully they will manage to settle down. When they’re moved into new digs they take two weeks to settle in and re-establish their relationship. So it may be that. I’ll link some guides below for you to read and also ask that the thread is moved to the correct place.

Thank you very much, I will read these now!

Not a problem, that's what the staff are here for. 👍
