My two boys are approx 12wks
Since we lost our other baby boy 8 days ago one of my boys, badger, (previously the timid quiet one) has almost continually prowled around the cage, bottom dragging, scent marking, mounting etc, which i know, from reading all the boar behaviour links is normal. The problem i have is that it seems to bother my other little boy, beaver. He is a very squeaky boy naturally but when this behaviour is taking place his squeaking becomes higher pitched & very very fast.Is he being bullied & will this behaviour affect him in the longterm? I have tried distracting the 'prowler' badger but as i said earlier this is contant even during the night, only really stopping when they are asleep or eating. There has been no fighting, attacks & they eat happily together.
I would add that in the days leading up to the death of my other baby, badger seemed to sleep on his own, with the other two snuggled up.(i know that had all three survived i would most probably had to split them, but was sold three boys by PAH,say no more!)
They are in a large cage, purchased from zooplus, the xxl, so they have enough room, plenty of toys.
For the last two nights i have seperated them between 11.30pm & 6am, so we can all get some sleep, but is this the right thing to do, or should i seperate them completely?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Apologies for the long thread.
