Hi there!

I'm not sure if there's already a thread on this, but have you guys noticed how the shape of some commercial cage manufacturers' cages is narrower toward the bottom of the cage (If my English is sub-par, I'm sorry, my native languages are Finnish and Swedish), so the actual usable space in the cage is much smaller than the advertised dimensions?

I'm getting two piggies in August and bought a Ferplast Casita 120 cage for them. It's supposed to be 119 cm x 58 cm (about 47 inches x 24 inches), which is more than minimum requirement in the EU (I purchased it in April, before having found this forum and being enlightened about how small the minimum actually is), but when I measured it at the bottom (on the outside), it was only 108 cm x 49 cm (ca 42 inches x 19 inches).

So I'm ordering a 2x4 C&C from the States. Shipping to Finland is 160+ dollars (not including the cost of the cage), which is a little painful, haha, but I'm super excited still.

Just thought I'd share this. I thought it was interesting, and quite disappointing.

I think Ferplast cages are quite bad for this, although otherwise they are very good cages. We bought a cheaper brand that doesnt slope so much, advertised as 100cm long, and it is longer than advertised at 105cm in the base so pretty much the same size as the Ferplast 120 cage!

Yes, it’s a nice cage in every other regard! Pretty, too. I’ll keep it for temporary use when I clean the bigger cage I’m getting, or for travel. So nice that you got a better one than you expected! :)
