Hi,
I have a single female guinea pig, unfortunately her daughter passed away. She is in a shop bought large rabbit cage and I would like to add another level to it. I have an old house sale sign which I was going to cut up and cover to use. Could anyone give me any ideas to what is the best way to do this?
Many thanks.

Hi,

I've got a ferplast 140 and I used a bit of metal/wire grid that I was able to bend to fix then used cable ties to secure to the side of the cage, then used a piece of square guttering, cut holes in the top, secured carpet to the guttering and then two cable ties back into the metal grid.

I then used cardboard, newspaper and then fleece for a cozy area.

You probably just need something a little rigid to ensure the floor doesn't sink...if you know what I mean.

Hope that makes sense. You could always use some c&c grids as well and cable ties and use your original sign flooring...

The additional space and exercise of the ramps work really well and all my furries love running up and down especially as the carpet is nice and grippy.
:))
