Junior Guinea Pig
Hi guys,
I have two 3-month old, unneutered male guinea pigs who live together in a big cage. They get on well, although they are starting to squabble a bit now that they are starting to experience teenage hormonal surges. It's mostly just A LOT of rumblestrutting so I'm hoping it'll never turn violent.
Anyway, I recently discovered a small animal rescue near where I live and they are trying to rehome several pairs of gorgeous, older females. I would love to help out and initially thought I could just get a second cage and adopt some girls, but then I read about how the scent of females can drive males crazy and increase their aggression towards each other.
I'm sure some of you have both males and females, so how do you do it? Before I adopted these boys I only ever had females. I'm learning so much about boar behaviour and care now, and boy, they are so much more complicated than females! I miss the days where I could just put all my pigs in one large cage and adding new pigs was never an issue.
