Seeing as the girls have settled in so well, I decided it was time to go ahead and add the loft area to their cage. I just used some MDF and bought a couple of ramps. I put some puppy pad on the MDF and then folded a fleece blanket.

I then covered that end of the cage with another fleece, as before.

Under the loft I have kept the 2 litter trays and also they can still get to the fresh hay in the hay racks.

At the top, they can also get to fresh hay.

I am waiting for a rabbit warren tunnel to arrive from Zooplus which I will cut in half (hopefully!) and then use to cover each ramp if I find that the pigs are a little unsure of using them while open like that.

The girls came out to investigate.

I needed something to temp them up to the loft. A bowl of Redigrass was added....

Eileen ran up the loft so fast..

Eva and Edna could smell the grass while Eileen tucked in to some hay in the loft..

I just hope Eileen doesn't scoff it all...

To be continued.....

Looking great! Love the look of the material - very striking. Could never get our old girls to use ramps, glad to see yours have took to it like a duck with water.

Looking forward to seeing more of your setup.

Is your cage a ferplast 120?

Aww they'll love it up there, looks very cosy as they love low celings don't they. My TItch used to run up the ramp to a loft twizzle mad in a tent I had there and run so fast back down and back up again and again it's lovely to see them doing that, means they are very happy. X

Yes, I thought I'd make the loft area with the lower roof as the area underneath has the litter trays and they need more head room to jump in and out. I thought it would be nice and snug for them.

So far, Eileen has now mastered getting down the ramp and is slowly getting more confident. She runs up it but getting down takes a little time. Having one eye missing probably doesn't help!

Aunty Edna has now made it up the ramp a few times and has worked out how to get back down, but she sort of jumps off the last bit.

Eva has yet to visit the loft but she is the shy girl of the group.

Here is Edna and little Eileen, chilling out in the loft.

What a nice extension to their space. Wonder if my gloriously beautiful guinea pigs would like something like that?

Hope Eva gets her courage up soon, bless her.

Looks awesome. I have a 140x70 cage too. Hmmm I wonder if my two would like a loft, they would hate the ramps though.
