Add A Shelf In Hutch

Hi, last week I adopted 2 male guinea pigs who are about a year old, they came with a 4ft x 2ft hutch and I want to add a shelf area along the back with a ramp. It will be about 15cm off the ground - should I put a barrier on the edge to stop them falling off or should the be ok at that height. I have a cardboard box about that height in their sleeping area and at least one of them has managed to get on and off it as the spare hay I put on top has been flattened down!

I think 15cm would be fine un-barriered. Mine quite happily hop on and off things that height

One has also fallen off that height and been fine!
