I really wasn’t sure where to put this thread but I was wondering how I could get Smokey and Bacon to be more active, they tend to sit in their bed and hay tray a lot, I can easily take the bed out but I can’t really leave the hay out for too long. The tray itself has been much better than anything else we’ve tried so I wouldn’t want to swap it out for something else. We will be building a cage somewhat soon (after all the planning and materials arrive, don’t know when though) I don’t know if that will help or not though.
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated, sorry for the long post, didn’t mean to ramble.

Do you keep that floor area open all the time for them? If so youll be amazed how putting a huge fleece down makes them popcorn and zoomie
 
Yes, the cage is too wee for them all the time, I may try to see if I could get a fleece, or even an old blanket...
 
Any suggestions of diy toys or toys your piggies have enjoyed would all be appreciated
 
Loo roll tubes stuff with hay

The tunnel you have already( i think you have) stuff that with long stranded hay, they try to push through and tug the hay out, and the tunnel rolls everywhere, some serious entertainment for you and smokey and bacon.

And as above, carrot cottages, i cut a another door in the side so that my pigs dont argue. But thats dot and bernie for you, they wont snuggle together.
 
My piggies are in the same situation. I've been giving them more floor time as well as interacting with them more :) as for the diy toys I put hay in the toilet paper rolls and they love it :D
 
How old are they? I find my 2 old boys, 5 and 5 and a half are pretty lazy.The only time guiseppe runs is when he thinks there's food and runs from his bed to the bars lol
 
I think some piggies are lazy.
I give mine floor time most days. They have free access to the cage.
There’s a paper bag filled with hay in the hall, lots of space to run but they will still find somewhere to just sit. Under the pan stand in the kitchen is a favourite place to chill out.
