The kick was more of a forceful push, as I was getting up to get him and his brother some food (he got caught in my foot’s crossfire). He’s not fully grown yet, but he seems okay for the most part (no problems running around, wheeking, eating, etc.) I saw him breathing a little heavily, which worried me. These are the first guinea pigs I’ve owned, so I’m a little paranoid. Is he okay? I know guinea pigs are good at hiding pain, which is what concerns me

Hi, hopefully he will be oki...just keep an eye on him...make sure his behaviour and eating habits don't change too much...the heavy breathing could have been from shock of being knocked...if you're concerned or unsure a just incase vet appointment should be good...plus if you've recently got them making them both one so you can double check for any conditions is sometimes good...please don't blame yourself though...it happens they like to run around and sometimes they don't consider the giant roaming around may not have seen them...ive knocked my guinea pigs before...even nearly stepped on one that was following me around...they are good at hiding pain but in general if they're hurt they will initially let out a wheek as the incident occurs...

I did this once too... similar situation, I was walking slowly and she basically ran into my foot and got shoved by its forward motion. She was upset but okay. The worst part was she hid from me for the next week or so and wouldn't leave the cage until I was out of the area, I felt so bad! After that she seemed to forget all about it and went back to being underfoot, though.

I would just keep a close eye on eating, breathing, pat him and make sure he doesn't react like something hurts. If you keep feeling like his breathing is abnormal it would be worth a checkup, but hopefully he's just spooked. Hope this helps!

I’ve done it too.
I was more upset than the piggy.
Just keep an eye on him as you intend to and if worried go to the vet.
Hope it’s all ok
