I am fuming (and so glad I am starting a new job in Jan)
It is my current works office party today from 2pm - 5pm I knoe I had to cover reception as the usual receptionnist is off but I assumed they would close the reception at 2pm when the party started OH NO they are naking me and just me miss the party to cover reception I am so FURIOUS I can hear them all upstairs now having a great time while I sit here on my own, Not only that I got a lift this morning(well out of my friends way) so I could have a glass of wine ...

I am sorry to rant but I am FOAMING!

At least you have another job to look forward to in the new year, and you can tell them to stick it where the sun dont shine!

I was tempted!

They have said I can go upstairs at 4pm but I said whats the point? All of the buffet will be goone and they are doing the secret santa now....
They have just dome it to be petty because I am leaving...Luckily I am going into newcastle after this so I can have a good time there.
What a bunch of total p**cks! Talk about the season of goodwill! ha ha

the least thing the other office staff should have done is bring you something to nibble down from the buffett!

Even if the management decided to be total f*ckwits, why dont your colleagues try to make it a bit nicer for you?
dont you get on with them either?

(in that case, you might actually be better off not being at the party, if they are all so unsocial where you work)
 
My last day is next fri but I am off mon and tues:)

My friends have just strted slipping me drink and food so that cheered me up a bit!

Nearly home time! :)
 
thats pathetic of them,hah if it were me i'd leave now and dump them in the crap,or order a pizza and charge it to them

our office is the same,the boss cant decide when or if to have a party/drinks,so I'm making other plans and if its then,tough on them
 
how nasty can you get, I think I would have said stuff it I'm off now, but i dont handle people like that too good lol, reminds me years ago I was a receptionist and telephonist of a big garage where I had to always make sure the switchboard was covered well in the workshop a car caught alight which was just near to my office which was in the sales showroom plus it was a petrol station with hugh tanks under ground full of petrol, everyone else was evacuated but me, Mick who is now my hubby was furious, and pulled me away, and the office manage got such grief from everyone for risking a young girls life just to answer the phones he retired not long after, think that shaped the way I am today, dont suffer fools gladly as my nan use to say about me,
 
Give them a leaving present from you, just send them all the guinea pig pooh!
 
thats so nasty of them to do that.... grrr workplaces made me angry! I am just finding that these days we are just numbers to them and they really dont care about us... One rule for one and one rule for everyone else.....

Good job you're leaving eh? I think I would have let my temper get the better of me, gone upstairs where the party was, stacked up a party plate with food from their buffet, got myself a few drinks and gone downstairs again! hehehe

What a bunch of absolute w*nkers! I would have told them to stuff it. They can't sack you. I hope you have a really good weekend and stick two fingers up to the horrid bosses :)
 
What a shame, how glad I am that I don't work anymore ::)

Though I do periodically think about it, but when I hear about other peoples experiences, I realise I'm not missing much :(

Good luck in your new job and I hope you have a much nicer bunch of workmates!

Well I got out of the office at 4.15 and then I went to my new work Christmas do and has an excellent time. I have been off for a couple of days - go back tomorrow fore three days and then I am finished there for good - I did feel a bit sad about it but not anymore!

I love the present of guinea poo idea - I might make a 'chocolate jelly beans' label for it! ;D
 
our love still havent decided if to have xmas drinks on thurs or friday! i told them its too late ive made other plans and the boss doesnt seem to care,hes bogged off to the US for 3 weeks >:(
