Hey guys. My mom have painted the fences in my backyard for about three days. There are definetely strong odor of paint. Today my dad washed my clothes in washing machine, but I am not sure I can wear them to feed guinea pig or clean the water bottle or do anything related to guinea pig. I am afraid the clothes have the harmful chemical substances.

Hey, I have no experience with this sort of things, but here is a link to someone else who had a problem with the paint fumes, and there are some good answers on there. I think paint fumes are only bad for asthmatic pigs, but not sure
Pigs and paint fumes
Painting around guinea pigs
Paint fumes and PIgs
If these aren't enough, go to the search bar and look up "Paint fumes and pigs" and there are more.
Also, I don't think your clothes will be harmful, just fumes.

There is absolutely no concern about your clothes whatsoever.

With the paints if the pigs are inside and the paint is outside, then just ventilate the house.
So it is fine if the washing machine is really close to where the paint smell is. It is not harmful if I do anything about my guniea pig such as cleaning the water bottle and I wear the cloth that is in that washing machine, right?

By the way, is it fine if I clean the cage in the garage where it is near the paint and smell so bad.

Please don’t worry yourself over this. There is absolutely no concern here at all.

Gotcha thank you! For my piece of mind, could I ask you a question please? Will the plastic cage absorb the smell or the paint on the surface or inside the cage if I clean the cage in the garage near the fences. It is really bad odor.

Sorry about it, I am curious about if the plastic will absorb the smell more easily?
You have nothing to worry about.
Fumes can not get into the washing machine and get on your clothes.
The plastic will not absorb the fumes if it is only in the garage for cleaning.
It is fine to care for your piggies as normal.

I have a question for you guys, please help. Could you please answer it? They put the container of paint in the garage and have smell of paint. So today the garage is open for a few minutes and close it. Only after a few minutes closing, I move the water bottle in order to clean the bottle cap but not changing water because I realize there is something dirty on the cap. I did not replace with the new water though. Will the water contaminate by the paint smell and be there for ever?

We have told you before not to worry, clean the cap, put fresh water in and it will be fine, you have nothing to be concerned about.
I clean the cap but not changing water because I changed the water before opening the garage door. However, once I walk to clean the cap, there is some smell near the garage.

Don't worry about it then. :tu:
I clean the water bottle everyday, but today is kinda strange. It is because I forgot to clean the cap after I clean the bottle. Once I realize it, the garage door was closed for a few minutes with some paint smell inside. Then I walk to clean the cap but not changing the water because I think the water was just changed. I just worried that the smell be inside the old water inside the water bottle?
