So today when I cleaned my piggie's cage using Miracle Cage Cleaner. I thought I sprayed too much so that I decided to use water in mineral water bottle to dilute the effect. However, when I wiped it down, I found water and liquid in cage cleaner was like sticky to each other and I did not know whether it would be sticky to the plastic cage or not. Will the concentration be too much and to be on the cage or inside the cage's floor and be harmful on the floor if I mix with this water? I waited and wiped. The entire process was about thirty minutes. I wiped to dry. Will it be harmful to guinea pig? Like this smell or chemicals or gas will be on or sticky to the floor will be there?

Please Help! I have never used water with the cage cleaner before. Will the smell or harmful chemicals be exposed if I add extra water be on the cage's floor? Will it be harmful?

I’m afraid I have no idea what Miracle Cage Cleaner is. I’d suggest checking the contents and reading the instructions on the label

I’m afraid I’m still not familiar with it. What is your main concern?

Read the ingredients and see what’s in there.

My concern is that will it form new harmful chemicals if I add water to the liquid on the cage? Or will it be like more concentrated to have a harmful effect and being absorbed by the cage's floor?

I would doubt it, but cannot offer you the sort of information and assurance you are seeking. Please contact the company.

They wouldn’t allow the use of a cleaner in households that would become harmful when mixed with water. Can you imagine the complaints that would be there? It’s fine. If you wipe it dry it will not be absorbed by the cage floor (assuming correx).

As I have said, I doubt that adding water would cause any problem, but I am not a chemist and cannot offer you the sort of answer you require. I doubt anyone on here can.

I basically did like it. I sprayed and waited about ten minutes but I thought I sprayed too much this time. Then, I added some extra mineral water to the cage's floor, and wipe for a little bit. I saw they mix together and become a little sticky and greasy. So I decided to wait five minutes more. And then I used paper towel to dry it completely.

I’m sure it will be fine. Presumably there will be a layer of bedding going onto the dry floor anyway?

I have used this cleaner for a long time, and I have never had any problem. But this time, I thought water and this cleaner mix together will form some strong chemicals to plastic cage's floor.

I seem to remember from school days that water dilutes most things ie makes them weaker. But as I have now said several times I am not a chemist, I can’t give a cast iron assurance. You have wiped it off. You are adding bedding and hay so your piggies won’t be coming into direct contact. I am sure all will be well.

Will it evaporate or will it be there ? Sorry about it. I am so worried about it.

I think you are worrying too much. Adding water to most things would make them weaker. You wiped it up and let it dry so your pigs will be fine.

Please listen to advice when its given.

But will it create new harmful chemicals?
I very much doubt it... why would u think that?

If the cleaner is safe for use around animals it will not suddenly become toxic ..

Even after all the replies and reassurances- if you are still concerned CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER.

One of the main ingredients in the cleaner is water so how would adding more water create a new chemical? Surely if that was the case then the spray itself would be harmful because it's already mixed with water

It is like it is almost dry, but there were still some liquid left, and then I added water. Will it be a problem?

Again I'm no scientist but if one of the main ingredients is water then adding more water is not going to suddenly change it to a dangerous chemical

I have the other question about my guniea pig. Sorry about changing subject. So my mom went to the back yard to exercise, but she touched my guniea pig's hay without washing hands. She used to cough much two days ago. Will it cause any problem? I really worried about it.
