A weird use for guinea pig cages!

Funny you should mention that, because putting one together (as a storage unit, like so) is how I broke my fingertip  still worth it though, it's very useful.

Ouch! Well thankfully no humans or animals were harmed in the building of this set!

One of the connectors (not one I was actually pushing on, either, it was weird) snapped back onto my fingers with a considerable amount of force. Freak accident, but I didn't get it checked out at the time because I thought it was just bruised. That was in October, lol, I should've had it seen. Still put the rest of it together the following day and it's now a DVD rack/spare fleece holder/router stand/something else I can't remember. And it balances well on my uneven floors too.

Ow ow ow. I've broken a finger once and didn't realise it. In my case it was from falling out of a bus, I broke my left little finger but it wasn't obvious. The joint doesn't really straighten all the way, it's been like that ever since.

Yeah, whatever damage I did was at the top knuckle (which is where it pinged off), I showed my mum a photo because I was trying to explain why something so small was giving me grief and she's like "Hmm, that looks like my arthritis." I think that means she no longer assumes I'm being overdramatic 🤷‍♂️ There's an obvious lump, but no swelling.
I had no idea how much I used the index finger on my non-dominant hand til I did it, lol, turns out you use it for quite a bit! Makes it fun trying to refill my vapes or open childproof caps.

Edit: and if you don't mind my saying, "falling out of a bus" is a great excuse for breaking something, and certainly better than "getting pinged by a piece of plastic" :))

😂 I feel I have to clarify that the bus wasn't moving. I was trying to get out at my stop and took the quick way down.

My “cage” was given to me as a shelf set. Now that I have the gp, I can only find 7 pieces, and three connectors. I’m not giving up finding the rest though.
Keep the faith. My husband just found a connector in the compost. In the finished compost, that is, and we haven't been emptying it so it must have been there a year or two!

Did you know you can make shelves out of them? And keep things in them?

Can't remember where I came across this mad idea, but I decided to give it a try. Amazing the things people think of, isn't it?
I read somewhere that the grids were originally made for this type of storage rack. Someone came up with the clever idea that they would make cages and added Corex as a liner.
I have a rack made from spare grids in the cupboard under the stairs to store piggie fleece and bags of food. The grids certainly come in very useful!
