I have two sows who have been together since babies and get along great. They are now both one year old.

Is it possible to add one or two new sows in with them after all this time or would it not work?

Thanks x

Depends on the personalities but in theory yes, but you will also need more space for them to live in

Thanks

One is very laid back and the other is quite nervy.

They are in a c&c at the moment which is 4 x 2, but i was planning to expand it to a 6 x 2 if it was possible to intoduce more.

You could add a neutered boar, they tend to be easier, but only one (boars can not live together along with sows)

You could also take them to a rescue and let them choose there new companion. I have read that it can at times upset the dynamics of the pair.

I noticed your from Glasgow :) where would the nearest one be?

Yea this is what I'm concerned about

With a well bonded pair of sows you'd do better with adding either one neutered male or two baby girls. Often, a single newcomer gets left out and you end up with the classic 2+1 constellation.

Thistle cavie in oban(I've heard loads of good things about her)http://thistlecavies.tripod.com/... Sometimes there are pigs on the forum. We can get some piggy trained to glasgow too.

I'm not sure But I think hels who is away at a wedding at present rehomes in Glasgow sometimes, and Sorkel may*Shouts Sorkel* I'm not sure.

Also failing that cardonald dog and cat home take in small animals.. may have Gp's(wouldn't say they would have a neutered boar though).

Neutered Boars are fab... I introduced a bonded pair of 18 months old sisters to my boar and it was so easy!

I already have 6 boars, in 3 pairs, so i know how lovely they can be x) that's why i thought if i added anymore it would be sows...to redress the balance! :))

Well in that case it maybe beneficial to contact Wendy, from thistle she would be more than happy to help and I know the last I heard she was full too bursting with piggies.

I'm sure she would even let you take the girls along to meet there new friends. All the piggies she has are not on the website so it may be worth phoning.

I'm sure hels rehomes in Glasgow too... but shes at wedding at present and I'm not 100% sure.

I know Wendy does though!
