I have two outdoor piggies...( please not flame me for not having them indoors, we just dont have room!) they are in a lovely hutch with plenty of hay and lots of fleese and a cosy bed each. the hutch is sheltered and covered at night with old duvets and tarps....and I do everything I can to make sure they are happy and healthy and they are very much loved. I would love to get them the snuggle safe heat pads that you microwave.....but do I have to be carefull in regards to the piggies tempretures rising to fast if they sit on them? i am aware that you cant just bring pigs in and out of warm houses as it can lead to illness, and would hate to put my boys at risk! so please let me know if you use them or an alternative on outdoor piggies......my boys come in for floor time during the day but not if the heating is on......what is the reccommended time they can stay in for before being put back out?
I am working on my hubs to let me get an indoor set up for the winter next year.....this will take some time as he is dead against it....and we would have to have a serious move around of furniture to get them in....any advice greatfully recieved.....thanks.

The best thing you can do to keep your little guys warm is move them in to a shed or sheltered place in the garden... E.g. A side entry... Or against a wall...
Snugglesafes are fantastic and I highly recommend them....!
If your going to use them then definately get in the habit of warming it every night... Just as the temp. Is dropping...

I do my snugglesafes around 10pm, as they only stay warm for 6-8 hours, and the coldest part of the night is the early hours of the morning.

They are warm but nothing like a heater or being indoors so you won't suddenly warm the piggies up that drastically. Just make sure the covers are on and secured as they can burn themselves on just the thing itself (as can you, use oven gloves or something when holding!)

I don't actually bring the outdoor pigs in at all, I have an area I managed to cover with my tarp I can fit one of my runs under so they run around on our patio while I am cleaning out etc. as my OH likes our flat like a furnace, so bringing them in is verging on dangerous! I just have to toughen up and get cold myself lol.

I bought some Snugglesafe heat pads and can honestly say they're brilliant. They're nice and warm and snuggly, but as Doeylicious says they don't get hot enough to cause a drastic change in temperature.

I can definitely recommend them, and so can Smudge -
