A new lump, fatty? Can a vet nurse take a look?

Elizabeth has several fatty lumps (confirmed by the vet), now another has cropped up It feels exactly like her other fatty lumps and is on her belly like the rest. Should I have it checked out? They’re due at the vets on Monday for nail trims but it’s with the nurse. Will a nurse be able to take a look or should I book an appointment with the vet?

I’d have it checked out if it’s growing. Jellybaby is very lumpy too He‘s a skinny so they’re very obvious. Like Elizabeth he had a lump on his tummy which was flat-ish and about 1cm back in May. Vet at the time said watch and wait - probably just a fatty lump as it moved around. By September though it had grown quite a lot and was almost touching the ground. I agonised about putting him through surgery and would have left it alone but it was much bigger than the other lumps and getting in his way so on advice from vet he had surgery yesterday. Happily back home and chomping away.

I’d call up the vets Claire and ask if it’s something the nurse would be able to do. Good luck.

I think you will need to see a vet if you want it checked out as nurses are not permitted to give a diagnosis as far as I know
