So my three boys, Rolor, Oreo and Twix have finally got their nice new C&C ! It is a definate step up from their handmade, chicken wire cage. Oreo and Rolo are living at the bottom in a 4x2 grid and Twix is living in a 2x2 grid loft ! It looks a lot nicer, however its a nerve wrecking time because I am bonding Oreo and Rolo for the first time, so far so good, I'm just curious as to whether a 4x2 is big enough for two boars ? thanks !

4x2 is the minimum for 2 boars - I bonded a new boy to my bereaved boar in august last year and they live in a 4x2 perfectly happily (so far) with no squabbles.

So I would say that you are fine with that size xx

I think with boars 2 x 5 is recommended, but 2 x 2 is not big enough for twix, some may disagree, but i dont think its big enough.

x

Lots of people say boars need more space but i disargree my 2 boys have lived happily in a 2x4 for the last year now :)

I would recommend at least a 2x3 for one piggy though is there anyway you could extend his living area ?

yes of course I can make it bigger :D ! I would need to purchase some extra grids but yes i will definately look into making it more spacious for them ! I will look into ordering some extra grids now ^^ thank you all!

Pretty sure 4x2 is the minimum as when I moved to c&c a few months back I checked like a million times on here.

Obviously the bigger the better, but 4x2 will be fine for them as a minimum..

my two boys are in a 2x4 C&C set up (no hayloft) and they have always been fine. They are 2 and came from the same litter

The minimum for a pair of pigs, male or female is 2x4 in a c&c.

I made my 5x2 because tyrian and lupin were quite big pigs for a start and I wanted to give them just a little more space but I also had the space to do this for them as well which not everyone does.

Glad you will extend the top pen for twix just so he has a bit more space.

yeah I thought it looked a bit small, we just had to make the best out of the amount of grids we got and knowing vaguely that its 4x2 for the boys on the bottom I focused more on making sure they had the room they needed when building it, I am searching for more grids to extend Twix's and maybe extend the 4x2 to a 5x2 for the others as well (: hopefully it should be done within the next two weeks if ebay continues to co-operate haha ! x

I assume when you say 2x2, you mean 2 grids of C&C and not 2 ft as I first thought. :))
