Joeykins
Junior Guinea Pig
...... And slightly stolen our hearts!
Ok, here's the story. On a cold and rainy night nearly 2 weeks ago, a neighbour and friend of mine had to seperate one of the boars from her mixed group as he'd been bullying and attacking the others, the situation deteriorated to the point where he had to be removed, and since they had no spare space, and I had some grids, a bundled up little boar was whisked accross the road to our house........
And, as it stands, it looks like he will be here to stay
me and my daughter both adore him, and he has behaved impeccably and seems very happy in his bachelor pad, seriously this boy rarely stops popcorning - he had been living in an outdoor hutch with other piggies and now he is living indoors in a C&C cage and he seems to love the extra space, and is always tearing around! He has 'met' the girls - as in they have been in seperate outdoor runs, side by side with a good foot of space between the two runs. He was wheeking and bubbling and keen to say hi...... Buttercup stared him down and Daisy looked at him like something she'd scraped off her shoe..... They were not impressed with, in my daughters verdict, a stinky boy piggie........
I have thought about seeing about having him neutered and introducing them, but given the temperaments of my girls (Daisy the biter who thinks she is a hamster and Buttercup the sulky, bossy spoilt brat with a serious case of PMT) and his history of being a bully and aggressive piggie towards both males and females, I thought the chances of them successfully integrating were not high enough to outweigh the risks of the surgery. And he does seem very content in his current scenario! He has a long-healed torn ear, which I think indicates he has long been a scrapper!
So, please meet Chester! This is the name he came with, although my daughter has asked if we could rename him lol!
