I have a question for people with outdoor set ups.

Our rabbits have a double story wooden hutch, which is permanently connected to a series of tunnels and outdoor enclosures.
At the end of Winter when I gave their hutch a deep clean I realized that they had hosted a little Winter guest - I found a small mouse nest at the back of their bedroom area, underneath their plastic littler box.

The area didn't smell (the whole hutch is lined with lino), but there was no sign of the mouse so I cleaned it up and left it.
Last night we saw a little mouse running around the hutch, and when I checked later the nest was back.

My question is should I be worried?
My gut instinct is that this is fine - it doesn't smell and doesn't bother the rabbits and is clearly only 1 mouse (for now!).
We live in a pretty rural area with a garden that backs on to farmland, so I think this sort of thing is pretty normal.

But am I missing something important?
Do I need to catch Pip (yes, the kids have fallen in love with him and named him) or can I just leave well alone as long as I don't end up with a massive infestation?

Below is Pip peeping out from behind the litter tray in the bedroom area of the hutch last night.

We used to have mice living alongside our pigs and it never caused an issue. I don’t know about communicable diseases though

I don't know the correct answer.
In nature many small animals life includes living near another.
PIp looks healthy and dam cute. :))
Great photo

Aw, he is gorgeous, we have a little mouse that helps in self to the hedgehog food in the feeding station. I don’t think it’s a problem x
