I have 1 male guinea pig. I have been reading the forums of people and their 2 guineas. I was wondering if it is ok to have 1 or should I get a mate for him? If I should get another one, how can I do the meeting process? But if it is fine with 1 what can I do to make sure he doesn't get lonely (besides taking him out of his cage everyday)? What would be signs of loneliness?

Hi!

Guinea pigs are social animals and should not be kept alone.

However it is not quite as easy as just sticking another guinea pig into a cage and expecting them to get on.
The best way of finding a character compatible mate is by rescue dating at a good standard piggy savvy rescue that offers this service, which is not always an option depending on where you live.

Another possibility is a next door neighbour; another single/unbondable boar in his own cage with round the clock mutual interaction/simulation through the bars.
