I'm looking at new hutches to buy and would like to know those who have ramps do your piggies use them? Even older pigs.

With my original hutch we had a ramp but neither of mine would use it. I'm not sure why :...

They now live in an indoor cage that doesn't have any ramps.

We don't have a ramp but they both jump up onto the roof of their little house, they both like to sit up there.

My older one didn't

when we had a ramp in the hutch Hartley and Liquorice used it (although i sort of think liquorice only used the ramp to see who was living above him!) but Pepper didn't.

Hi Amy

All my pigs use their ramp even my new girl who has some issues with her legs. I think the most important thing is to make sure there is something on the ramp that makes it grippy enough for their feet otherwise they get scared that they are going to slip. A towel folded in half and attached with bulldog clips at the top works a treat x

Yes, my two piggilys use ramps. at first we had to teach them that they weren't scary , then they were fine! at the mo' they are around one and a half yrs

I had a 3 tier hutch once upon a time which became redundant when the pigs wouldn't use the ramps, so I steer clear of them now. With my setup it's easier for me not to have things stacked too high anyway. I'd rather go for a longer, single level hutch personally.

We have a two tear cage with ramp and I was worried that they might fall off the edge, so made a tube out of carboard and put some non slip mat on it, until I recieved a ramp from cosy cavies which is great, takes all the worry out of them being safe and they ran straight up and down it.

when outside they have a hutch with a ramp which flash taught them how to use, then inside I extended up and put a ramp up, again flash soon had them going up and down, although they now know that ramps are usually to food.
