Over Christmas we have had a house guest.
At first I did not like this house guest at all.

All of the slaves kept saying how cute and lovely she was, when everyone knows that I am always the cutest and loveliest one in our house.
The big slave spent lots of time fussing and getting things ready for the house guest, and I was very neglected. My breakfast was actually a few minutes late at least twice.
It has been a very trying time indeed.

I never actually got to meet the house guest, as she lives in a different part of the house.
I had originally planned to give her a nip to show her that I have the monopoly on attention and fuss here, but sadly the opportunity never arose.

However just when I was getting very fed up hearing about this guest, the quality of my fresh veg ration improved dramatically!
Plentiful herbs (which the big slave always rations because she says they are too expensive) and lots of celery (which the big slave claims is ‘impossible’ to get hold of).
Apparently the house guest also has a slave, and her slave (who is clearly very well trained) sent a huge box of vegetables for all of us to share!
I have now decided that I really like having a house guest, and if I ever meet her I would not even nip her.

I hope she comes to stay again very soon (or at least sends us another huge veg box).

Love Ruby x

Ruby your house guest is gorgeous. But obviously not as gorgeous as you. Enjoy the extra veggies.

Dear Ruby,
Your house guest looks very big.
What an amazing gift to bring with her. It sounds like you have enjoyed lots of yummy treats.

Wish we lived closer, as we had problems with our slave and vegetables being super late last night.

Dear Ruby,
We are sure that you remind your slaves who is the cutest one in the house.
Your house guest is very lovely though and we are happy that you were given extra veggies too.

Dear Ruby
Please let us know what to do. Our supper has been VERY late on 2 occasions this week and we have been stuck in the hutch instead of going out in the run. Our Slave calls them "Duvet Days" to make her feel better. We think your house guest looks very nice but are wondering what sort of strange guinea pig it is.

Dear Betsy, Meg, Lexi and Thea,

I am sorry you are experiencing a lack of total slave devotion right now.
Trust me - I feel your pain.
Sadly this time of year seems to be particularly bad for flimsy slave excuses - I recommend a sharp nip to remind them of their responsibility to put you first at all times.
My own slave blames the lack of fresh grass on something she calls 'Winter' - have you ever heard of anything more ridiculous?
I call it laziness.

Be strong my fellow piggies - we must battle through the dark days, with the hope of lighter times ahead.

Love Ruby xx

Dear Ruby,
We think you should give your slave some hard nips and demand she goes to Wales. We don't know where Wales is but our slave disappears there. We love it when she's gone as the man slave gives us lots of treats, and she brings us back bags of grass. We hope she goes to Wales again tomorrow, tonight she said we had finished our Welsh grass.
Don't fall for this winter excuse, we know there's lovely grass out there the slaves just have to travel for it.
Love from, Rusty, Red, Brillo, Caspy and Nugget.

Dear Ruby,
we get to hear the same 'winter' excuse. Boring time of the year.
But at least our slave is mostly on time with feedings at the moment.

Last night was a bit strange though. Slave stayed up really late with the tv running. And when she finally went to bed, she reassured us that the worst should be over by now and we don't have to be afraid of anything.
Weren't particularly worried anyhow.

Dear Betsy, Meg, Lexi and Thea,
we knew, your slave couldn't really be as good as she wanted to make us believe.
Thank you for the warning!
We have cancelled all plans to travel to the UK (whereever that is, aren't to keen on traveling anyhow.) in the nearer future.
Best to stay at home and endure our own slave.

Oh dear! Poor Ruby, we understand! (Although your guest is gorgeous!) x
