a funny ffft like noise!

My new baby Stan, makes a funny fffft like noise, a bit like a sneeze but not if you will.

I can try and video him doing it, its just catching him!

I dont think its a problem as i had another pig that used to do it, i just wondered what it was or why they do it.

Anyone know what i mean? inbreeding

Hmm, I don't really know, unless its just teeth chattering :{. Might be helpful if you can get a video of it

It might not be a sneeze per se - rather the piggy deliberately clearing its little nose. Biscuit does this all the time as he's quite sensitive to hay and stuff. Hope that's helpful

very thankyou, i have heard it before on other pigs...but one of them i lost to pneumonia eek! lol

Hopefully it's nothing that serious. Next time you pick the little piggy up, try putting your ear close to his back and listening to his chest. See if it sounds clear or if there is any wheezing or gurgling - you'll know if he has a chest infection then (my Biscuit arrived with a chest infection, the vet caught it early and after two weeks of anti-biotics he was all better ).

If it is clear, and I really hope it is, the little guy is probably a bit sensitive to dust or hay or something and is clearing his nose. I'm not the most experienced piggy owner but thanks to little Biscuit and his health issues, I'm learning pretty quickly!

I think have heard my piggies make this noise too...kinda like a mini-sneeze or a sigh?

I have no idea what it means though and they don't really do it often.
