A bit of good news for the day:

Wonderful news, it sounds like she's a great new mother. 🥰
I love the comment her carer made "She was used to a dopey shire and was taken aback by these foals zooming around her."

There's a story I read some time ago, don't remember where to find it again, but it talked about duck eggs being placed under a chicken because the ducks were horrendous at parenting and, well, the chicken was there anyway. Eggs hatched, chicken's got babies! Sure they're ducklings, but Mama Chicken doesn't care, she looks after them anyway. And all's well until one day, Mama Chicken is heard screaming something awful, panic and pain, and a rush towards the sound begins.

What happened?

The ducklings saw a pond. The ducklings instinctively went OH WATER. Meanwhile, chickens can't swim. Poor Mama Chicken was terrified for her bonkers little ones that ran head first into the water!

Mama Chicken did eventually calm down and by the third or fourth instance of this happening basically went "My children are nuts, but eh. They'll be fine."
