Lightning is a very charismatic lethal white guinea pig, who arrived At TEAS with his Dad, Nessie and younger brother and sister, Hei Hei and Cutie Pie!

Unfortunately, as Lightning hit adolescence, he fell out rather spectacularly with his Dad, and despite trying larger accommodation, the bond was no longer working! I attempted to bond Lightning into Monkey’s group, but he clashed with Leander, who is another big personality! I then tried him with a single boar and again all hell broke loose! I feel so sad leaving a blind and deaf guinea pig on his own and knew we needed to find a solution!

Therefore, I took Lightning to see Simon last week, to discuss whether neutering could be a consideration, as we’ve never had a lethal white guinea pig neutered before. Simon checked him thoroughly and as he’s a big, strong and robust boar, we are going ahead. Lightning has been making friends with a Mum and Daughter pairing, who are in the next cage to him, so I’m hoping that once he’s 6 weeks post neuter he may want to join Summer and baby Florence!

Today’s the day for Lightning’s op and I’m currently cleaning the house nonstop to try and keep myself busy, whilst waiting for the call! IMG_1344.webp

Good luck Lighting. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery and new friends very soon ❤️

Gorgeous piggy, hope he has a smooth recovery and meets his new friends soon. What an amazing job you do with them all.

Lightning is home! The first thing he did was stand up at the bars between his and the girls cage, just to let them know he was back (unfortunately I missed filming that) He then had a quick walk round the cage and then started to eat his dinner! He seems totally unfazed by his little trip out today and completely unaware that he’s come home with some bits missing! 💙

So relieved that his surgery has gone well add he can continue his wooing of the neighbours.

Really happy to see that Lightning is doing so well. I was lucky enough to meet him recently and he is such a lovely boy, It is great that he will soon be able to have some female company. ❤️

I’m glad that Lightning is doing well post-surgery and I hope it all goes well for him when it’s time to meet his new friends.
