I'm hoping to expand the piggies skyline xxl with a 2nd level. Been having a little look round and as I'm impatient and didn't want to wait for delivery of cubes etc, I took a trip to the 99p shop! It was a great success! I bought 2 wooden decking squares to create the basis of the shelf, 2 laminate floor squares to go on top of these because of the gaps, splinters etc. Also bought a bamboo border edging and a doormat, and I am going to fashion this into a ramp! And then I have cable ties to connect this to the cage. I'm so excited! Off to do some sawing of the wooden decking now to fit it to size - I'm hoping this will be successful, but if not it has only cost me £7.93 for everything!

Just thought it was worth sharing with people who, like me, are a bit new to the whole customising thing.

I love being adventurous with the piggies houses - some of the £1 shops have odd and sods that can be modified to make unique items. I have spent a lot of money on dishes for their pellets, veggies etc. but never seem to have got it right somehow. The piggies often nudged the other out of the way so contemplated buying second dishes. In Wilkinsons a couple of weeks ago, browsing around the garden section, found some pottery plant holder bases around 6" wide, very basic but perfect. Two piggies can comfortably eat together from them and they were £1 each rolleyes My little 11 week old sow thinks she's in heaven as she can sit in the middle and bury herself under the veggies now :(|)
Please send us piccies of your DIY when you have finished :)p
