One of my pigs was recently diagnosed with arthritis, so I'm considering ways to rearrange my home to accommodate him better. Currently, I have three pigs in a two-storey 160 cm x 60 cm cage, but I will need to remove the ramps and give them more space on a single floor.

Depending on how I rearrange the furniture in the spare bedroom, I could fit either a 260 cm x 60 cm (7 x 1.5 C&C) cage, or a 185 cm x 77 cm (5 x 2 C&C) cage. A 260 cm x 60 cm would be more convenient for the human members of the family, plus it would mean the piggies are in the most pleasant part of the room, where they can look out of the window and are away from the AC unit, so it doesn't blow directly at them. 60 cm wouldn't be too little, would it? I think their current two-storey 160 cm x 60 cm was wide enough (they do use both floors rather actively, and don't stay only on one).

Awwww, poor little one :( We had a girl with jaw arthritis, she was on metacam permanently.

Yes 60cm would be fine. same width as a standard cage :)

Yeah, I thought as much, but wanted to check other people's opinions. 60 cm appears to be the bare welfare minimum, but they'd get more space overall with a 7x1.5
