i’ve done my research, measured the space i have available and a C&C cage would fit perfectly. in the area i’ve got, a 3x3 cage would fit perfectly, but i’m wondering if that would be okay for two pigs or if i need to move some furniture into different rooms to fit in a different size. maybe i could just try to add a loft extension instead, or just leave it how it is?

also, would this one be okay? AmazonBasics 6 Cube Wire Storage Shelves - White: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

I think the space itself is okay but it's recommended to have a length of 120cm (4 grids) one way for exercise, I don't know too much about c&c cages but generally 4×2 is the minimum

it is just about big enough for 2, if there is enough clear space to run around easily. It would be better if you could have more space but if that isnt an option then you could put a loft extention in for more space

A 3x3 is fine for 2 piggies, it exceeds the minimum recommended floor space- it is floor area not shape that matters. A 3x3 is 110x110cm. Adding a loft doesnt contribute to the calculated floor space as some pigs wont use lofts. A better plan might be to buy a larger playpen that folds away when not in use, so they can have some extra exercise out of their cage.
A 3x3 might be better suited to a pair of girls or a girl/neutered boar pair, pairs of boys generally need more room!

:agr:

The minimum recommended cage size (on the forum) is 8 sq ft. You can get that from a cage of 120cm x 6 cm, but you don't have to have a rectangular cage of 120cm x 60cm to meet the minimum. The length/width measurements are there for shop bought cages - like a Ferplast, which comes in different sizes, and it's there to give you an idea of what size Ferplast cage you need to be buying. Obviously it's not only Ferplast, but you get the idea.

they’d get at least an hour of floor time a day most days. i’ll stick with the 3x3 then and see how it goes. i’ll expand later if needed. thank you
Yes plenty of floor time, that's what we do we have a 2x5 and a half at the moment for our 3 ladies, going to try and wrangle it to a 2x6 somehow, we are lucky our kitchen/small dining area is pig proof for most of the day..so the girls get out everyday for a good run about..only downside is I have to hoover in here..a lot 😂
