It depends on the age and temperament of the boars and how well they get on. I've used 2x4 a few times for elderly well matched boars when it was all I could fit in, by the time you've got 2 beds in there there's not much room for a pair of young zoomy pigs to run around and popcorn. 2x5 is the minimum I like, these days I use 5x3 for my pairs and 2x4 for the single side by side boars who can't live together.
With boars it really is the bigger the better. Our rescue would recommend 5x2 for a pair of boars.

Comet and Blitzen coped with a 2x4, but I wouldn't have my current pair in one. I'm not even sure they'd survive a 2x5. It is very much up to the individual pigs involved but 2x4 would be far too much of a risk for me to want to take.
